 Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation during the 26th session of the Islamic Fiqh Council in Doha: The brutal Israeli aggression against the Palestinians calls for greater solidarity.

DOHA (UNA) – The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), His Excellency Mr. Hussein Ibrahim Taha, began his speech at the opening of the 26th session of the Conference of the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA) in the Qatari capital, Doha, by expressing his deep gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, and to the Government of Qatar for their generous hospitality and warm welcome, as well as for the State of Qatar’s support to all OIC institutions, which embodies its firm commitment to joint Islamic action.

The Secretary-General stressed that the current international situation, represented by the brutal Israeli aggression against the Palestinians in Gaza and the rest of the occupied territories, including Jerusalem, calls for greater solidarity with the victims of these attacks.

In this context, he commended the role and efforts made by the International Islamic Fiqh Academy, which contributed to exposing the crimes committed by Israel and strengthening international solidarity with the Palestinian people.

The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) stated that the role played by the International Islamic Fiqh Academy (IIFA) is one of the fundamental pillars of the unity of the Islamic Ummah, through unifying the sources and principles of Islamic Sharia. He commended the great efforts exerted by His Excellency the President of the Academy, Dr. Sheikh Saleh bin Abdullah bin Humaid, and His Excellency the Secretary General, Professor Dr. Qutb Sano, which have effectively contributed to achieving the goals and principles of the OIC, which are based on the Islamic values ​​of solidarity, brotherhood, and tolerance.

Taha called on member states to provide financial and academic support to the International Islamic Fiqh Academy to enable it to continue its successful journey in serving the Islamic Ummah.
