Organization of Islamic Cooperation

The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation receives the credentials of the Permanent Representative of the Republic of Maldives to the Organization.

Jeddah (UNA) – The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Hussein Ibrahim Taha, received Ambassador Ahmed Sarir at the General Secretariat headquarters on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, who presented him with his credentials as Permanent Representative of the Republic of Maldives to the OIC.

During the meeting, the ambassador emphasized the importance the Maldives attaches to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and its support for its resolutions in all areas that serve the interests of the Islamic nation. He also emphasized the OIC's prominent role in supporting the causes of its member states and its commendable efforts to achieve goals that serve the Islamic world.

For his part, the Secretary-General congratulated the Permanent Representative on assuming this position, thanked the Maldives for its active participation in the organization, and expressed his aspiration for continued cooperation between the Maldives and the OIC.
