Jeddah (UNA) – Professor Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Chaudhry, Coordinator General of COMSTECH, held an expanded meeting with H.E. Ambassador Aftab Ahmad Kokher, Assistant Secretary General (Science and Technology Management) of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), at the OIC General Secretariat headquarters in Jeddah, on the sidelines of the 47th Session of the Islamic Commission for Economic, Social and Cultural Affairs (ICECS).
The two sides discussed the ongoing preparations for the OIC Steering Committee meeting for the implementation of the 2026 Science, Technology and Innovation (STI) Agenda, scheduled to be held from April 22 to 24, 2025, at the COMSTECH headquarters in Islamabad. The meeting also addressed the health program in Africa and the OIC's support for this initiative.
The two officials also reviewed arrangements for the second ministerial meeting of the OIC-15 Dialogue Platform, scheduled to be held in Tehran on May 19-20, 2025.
The discussions emphasized the importance of continued cooperation among OIC member states to promote scientific and technological initiatives in the Islamic world.
