Jeddah (UNA) – The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) condemned in the strongest terms the targeting of the convoy of President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud, President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, on Tuesday, March 18, 2025, in Mogadishu, which resulted in the death and injury of civilians.
The Secretary-General of the Organization, Mr. Hussein Ibrahim Taha, expressed his strong condemnation of this heinous act, and offered his condolences to the Somali government and people, as well as to the families of the victims, wishing a speedy recovery to the injured. He reiterated the OIC's solidarity and support for the Federal Republic of Somalia and its people in confronting all threats to its security and stability. He affirmed the OIC's condemnation of all forms of terrorism and its support for the Somali government's efforts to combat it.
