Jeddah (UNA) - Ambassador Tariq Ali Bakhit, Special Envoy of the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) for Afghanistan, received Ambassador Jihad Arginay, Director General for South Asia at the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) today, Sunday, March 09, 2025.
The two sides discussed views on issues of mutual interest, including political, economic and humanitarian aspects in Afghanistan, and reviewed possible avenues for cooperation. They also exchanged ideas and approaches to address key issues in the light of relevant OIC resolutions. The meeting stressed the importance of continued engagement to support the Afghan people and promote constructive dialogue with the de facto authorities on various issues.
Ambassador Bakhit expressed his appreciation for the positive role and contributions made by the Republic of Turkey in supporting the goals set by the OIC resolutions. Both sides affirmed their commitment to continue exchanging views to advance the common goals of achieving peace, prosperity and stability in Afghanistan.
