OIC Secretary General congratulates member states on advent of Ramadan

The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Mr. Hussein Ibrahim Taha, extended his warmest congratulations and blessings to the entire Islamic Ummah on the occasion of the advent of the holy month of Ramadan for the Hijri year 1446, and to the Member States of the Organization, expressing his congratulations to the host country, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and his loyal Crown Prince, Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and to all leaders of the Member States of the Organization, and all Islamic peoples on the occasion of the advent of the month of goodness and blessings.

Mr. Hussein Ibrahim Taha prayed to God Almighty to bestow His blessings and security upon the Islamic nation in this holy month, leading to the end of crises and conflicts in various parts of the Islamic world.

The Secretary-General expressed his deep sorrow and concern over the tragic conditions experienced by the residents of the Gaza Strip, which has been stricken by the brutal Israeli aggression for a year and four months, along with expressing his concern over the ongoing Israeli crimes and attacks on the West Bank, occupied Jerusalem and the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

The Secretary-General expressed his wishes that God Almighty would grant the Palestinian people support and victory, liberate the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque from the clutches of the Israeli occupation, and that the holy month of Ramadan would be a decisive turning point towards the Palestinian people regaining their rights, achieving their destiny and establishing their independent state with Jerusalem as its capital. He also asked God Almighty to make this holy month an end to the tragedies and pains of all Muslims and an occasion for the return of the displaced and refugees to their homes and homelands.

The Secretary-General stressed that the month of Ramadan is a month of fasting and standing for all Muslims, and an opportunity to practice the values ​​of goodness, compassion and solidarity, to preserve lives and spread the spirit of peace, calling for extending a helping hand to the needy, the destitute and those suffering from harsh conditions in refugee and displacement camps.
