ISLAMABAD (UNA/APP) – Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) Hussain Ibrahim Taha on Friday stressed the importance of cooperation among OIC member states in the vital areas of science and technology to overcome the major challenges currently facing the Islamic Ummah. The remarks came during his visit to the Secretariat of the Permanent Ministerial Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the OIC. The high-profile event was attended by the Deputy Secretary General of the OIC, Ambassadors of OIC member states, diplomats, scientists, researchers and senior government officials from various OIC countries. The event witnessed the announcement of transformative initiatives aimed at promoting science and technology across the OIC region. The OIC Secretary General also commended the COMSTECH Scholarship and Fellowship Programme for Palestinian Nationals, praising its profound impact in empowering Palestinian youth through education and skills development.
