OIC Media Observatory Report on Israel's Crimes Against Palestinians

 Jeddah (UNA) - The period between December 31, 2024 and January 6, 2025 witnessed bloody events in the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem, while the beginning of the new year was a continuation of the Israeli aggression, which was no less severe than in previous years and was represented in ongoing genocide crimes in the Gaza Strip, where the OIC Media Observatory for Israeli Crimes against the Palestinians documented the martyrdom of (320) Palestinians during that period, and the wounding of (840) others, while the occupation forces arrested (143) Palestinians in the cities of the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem. The number of Palestinian martyrs since October 7, 2023, until January 6, 2025, exceeded (46692) martyrs, while the number of wounded during the same period of time reached (115839), while the total number of Israeli crimes during the past week amounted to (2166) crimes distributed across the Gaza Strip, the West Bank and occupied Jerusalem.

Over the past seven days, Israeli shelling has focused on Khan Yunis, and has targeted the vicinity of Halima al-Sadia School in Jabalia camp, in addition to areas in northern Gaza City, Nuseirat, and Deir al-Balah.

The Israeli army opened fire on a convoy of the United Nations World Food Programme as part of its efforts to diversify its methods of preventing humanitarian aid from reaching Palestinians in the Gaza Strip. It also targeted a police station in Khan Younis, killing five policemen, in a similar attempt to spread chaos and expose aid to theft. Palestinians reported that groups suspected of being Israeli soldiers burned down Palestinian homes that had survived the bombing in northern Gaza.

On the other hand, the Israeli occupation threatened to bomb Al-Awda Hospital after ordering its evacuation, besieged the Indonesian Hospital in Beit Lahia, and bombed the entrance to Al-Shifa Hospital, while the number of newborns who died due to the severe cold reached seven.

On another level, the occupation forces killed a journalist and a photojournalist in the Gaza Strip, bringing the number of journalists killed to (202) since the beginning of the Israeli aggression on the Strip.

In occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank, the occupation forces demolished (10) houses, seven of them in occupied Jerusalem, where the number of house demolitions and land leveling operations since October 7, 2023, until the end of 2024, amounted to (439) operations. The Israeli occupation demolished a commercial store in Bethlehem and several barns in the villages of Ramallah, and three water collection wells in Nablus and Jericho. The occupation forces confiscated five cars in each of Ramallah, Nablus and Qalqilya.

Regarding the attacks on the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, the organization’s observatory recorded the entry of (69017) Israeli extremists into the mosque’s courtyards from October 7, 2023 until the end of 2024, as the settlers recently lit the Hanukkah menorah in the Old City in front of one of the gates of Al-Aqsa.

Meanwhile, the settlers raided (41) villages and towns in occupied Jerusalem and the West Bank in one week, during which they stole a vegetable stand in Tubas and the contents of a car after assaulting its owner in Salfit, burned 7 vehicles in the village of Al-Mughayyir and between the villages of Silwad and Yabroud in Ramallah, cut down 19 olive and apple trees, and held Talmudic prayers in a number of religious shrines in Salfit.

The number of settlement activities during the period from December 31, 2024 to January 6, 2025, amounted to (6) activities, which included placing a fence around an archaeological site in the town of Al-Auja with the aim of seizing it, allowing settlers to storm the archaeological site of Abu Al-Alaiq Hills and conduct excavations inside it, establishing two settlement outposts near the villages of Qaryut and Al-Jab’a, and plowing lands in Jerusalem and Hebron in preparation for planting and confiscating them, in addition to settlers seizing an area of ​​land from the town of Yatta and bulldozing it with the aim of planting it.
