Jeddah (UNA) - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation strongly condemned the escalation of the crimes of the Israeli occupation in the occupied Palestinian territory, which led yesterday, Friday, September 6, 2024, to the martyrdom of the American-Turkish activist Aysinur Azgi Ece (26 years old) by the bullets of the Israeli occupation forces while participating in a peaceful march against the colonial settlement policy in the town of Beita, south of Nablus, as well as the martyrdom of the child Bana Amjad Bakr (13 years old), during the attacks of extremist settler militias, under the protection of the Israeli occupation forces, on the village of Qaryut, south of Nablus.
The organization held Israel, the occupying power, responsible for these heinous crimes, which constitute an extension of the crime of genocide and organized terrorism practiced daily by the Israeli occupation forces against Palestinian civilians in flagrant violation of all international laws, norms and relevant United Nations resolutions, calling at the same time for the formation of an independent international committee to investigate these crimes and hold their perpetrators accountable.
The organization also stressed the need for the international community, especially the UN Security Council, to assume its responsibilities and enforce its resolutions, including imposing an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, and ending the policy of colonial settlement and the illegal Israeli occupation of the land of the State of Palestine.
