grandmother (UNA) - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation expressed its concern about the continuation and intensification of the Israeli occupation’s brutal crimes and unprecedented violations against thousands of Palestinian prisoners, which were documented by the competent legal institutions, which included crimes of execution, torture, starvation, rape, isolation, and cases of forced disappearance, especially against detainees from the Gaza Strip, which led to the martyrdom of eight. The organization also condemned the continued arbitrary detention campaigns launched by the Israeli occupation forces, which led to the number of Palestinian prisoners rising to more than 9700, including (80) female prisoners, 52 journalists, more than 250 children, more than 3380 administrative detainees without charge or trial, and about 600 prisoners are serving life sentences.
The organization called for an urgent international investigation into the inhumane conditions and continuing Israeli violations against Palestinian prisoners in Israeli occupation prisons, which rise to the level of war crimes and crimes against humanity, and constitute a flagrant violation of all standards and rules stipulated in international humanitarian law, the Charter of Human Rights, and the Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Palestinians. The organization called on the international community and competent human rights institutions to assume their responsibilities and work to oblige the Israeli occupation authorities to deal with the Palestinian prisoners in accordance with the relevant international conventions, reaffirming its solidarity and support for the rights of the Palestinian prisoners, its support for their steadfastness, and its commitment to work to convey their message and suffering to the international community in order to achieve Freedom and justice for them.
