The Organization of Islamic Cooperation expresses its denunciation of Argentina's hostile positions towards the Palestinian issue

grandmother (UNA) - The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation expressed its regret and dissatisfaction with the refusal of Argentine President Javier Milli to attend a meeting that was scheduled with the Council of Ambassadors of the Arab and Islamic Groups in Buenos Aires, under the pretext of the presence of a representative of the State of Palestine among the attendees, and affirmed its rejection of this disappointing behavior that does not affect his status and rights. Not only the State of Palestine, but it constitutes a hostile and unjustified position towards the Islamic group, calling for the necessity of adhering to established diplomatic norms in accordance with the Charter of the United Nations and the Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, which affirms that diplomatic representatives must be treated with the necessary respect and equality among all countries.

The organization considered this behavior unacceptable and constitutes an extension of the hostile positions recently adopted by the President of Argentina by standing on the wrong side of history with his unacceptable bias and support for the Israeli occupation, in contravention of Argentina’s obligations under international law and international legitimacy resolutions.

The organization called on Argentina to reconsider its positions that deny the rights of the Palestinian people who are subjected to the crime of genocide in the Gaza Strip, and to adopt a traditional and balanced policy that is consistent with the approach and positions of the South American countries regarding the Palestinian issue, in order to ensure the fraternal and historical relations that bind it with the member states of the Palestinian Authority. the organization.
