The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation stresses the importance of international efforts to achieve a ceasefire in the Gaza Strip

grandmother (UNA) - The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, stressed the importance and necessity of the success of efforts aimed at putting an end to the ongoing Israeli military aggression against the Gaza Strip, including the proposal recently announced by the President of the United States of America, Joe Biden, regarding an immediate ceasefire and Israel’s withdrawal. From the Gaza Strip, releasing prisoners and detainees, returning the displaced to their homes, and ensuring the delivery of sufficient humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

The Secretary-General reaffirmed the organization’s position, which calls for an immediate, comprehensive and permanent cessation of the Israeli aggression against the Gaza Strip, and all violations committed by the Israeli occupation forces throughout the occupied Palestinian territory, including the city of Al-Quds Al-Sharif, and the necessity of the complete and unconditional withdrawal of the Israeli occupation forces from The Gaza Strip, the necessity of delivering humanitarian and medical aid and basic needs in an adequate and sustainable manner to all parts of the Gaza Strip, the necessity of opening all crossings with the Gaza Strip, rejecting any attempts to displace the Palestinian people, the necessity of facilitating the return of the displaced to their homes, providing the necessary shelter centers and basic services for that, and accelerating In launching the reconstruction process of the Gaza Strip, in order to achieve peace and stability in the region, in accordance with the vision of the two-state solution, the relevant United Nations resolutions, and the Arab Peace Initiative.
