The envoy of the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to Afghanistan begins a visit to the Afghan capital, Kabul

Jeddah (UNA) - Ambassador Tariq Ali Bakhit, envoy of the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to Afghanistan, arrived yesterday, Friday, April 19, 2024, in the Afghan capital, Kabul, at the head of a high-level delegation from the General Secretariat of the Organization and its institutions.

The delegation includes Professor Dr. Noura Al-Rashoud, Executive Director of the Independent Permanent Commission for Human Rights, Dr. Afnan Al-Shuaibi, Executive Director of the Women’s Development Organization, in addition to Dr. Amina Al-Hajri, Director-General of the Department of Social and Cultural Affairs in the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and a number of officials in both... The General Secretariat and these institutions.

The delegation was received at Kabul Airport by officials from the Afghan Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in addition to Dr. Muhammad Al-Ayashi, Director of the Office of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in Kabul.

The delegation held important discussions on Saturday, April 20, 2024, with Afghan officials regarding follow-up to the decisions of the Council of Foreign Ministers on the situation in Afghanistan, especially those related to women’s rights. They included Mawlawi Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister, Mawlawi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Mawlawi Sheikh Muhammad Khaled Hanafi, Minister of Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice.
