The Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language celebrate “International Arabic Language Day”

Jeddah (UNA) - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language are organizing, for the second year in a row, a program to celebrate International Arabic Language Day, under the patronage of Prince Badr bin Abdullah bin Farhan, Saudi Minister of Culture, and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Academy.

The program is held under the title: (Arabic: The Language of Poetry and Arts), and comes as an extension of the Academy’s efforts to organize a group of events and programs on this occasion inside and outside the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, including the international celebration at the headquarters of the United Nations (in New York City).

The celebration will be held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, in the city of Jeddah, on January 14, 2024.
The celebration will be opened by: the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, the Secretary-General of the Academy, Professor Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washami, the Permanent Saudi Representative to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Professor Dr. Saleh bin Hamad Al-Suhaibani, and the Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Shahin Abdullayev; In addition to a group of Their Excellencies the Ambassadors and Permanent Representatives of the Organization’s member states.

The celebration of International Arabic Language Day, at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, includes two dialogue sessions: The first is titled: “Arabic Poetry in Islamic Countries: Influence and Influence,” and the second session deals with “The Arabic Language in the Arts in Islamic Countries.” This is with the participation of a group of legal persons representing the bodies of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, the King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language, the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), and the Research Center for Islamic History, Arts and Culture (IRCICA).

The celebration event will include a poetry session reviewing excerpts from poems by poets of the Islamic world delivered by three poets: Muhammad Ibrahim Muhammad Yaqoub (from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia), Bahr al-Din Abdullah (from the Republic of Sudan), and Abdullah Muhammad Ubaid (from the Republic of Yemen).

The event also includes (Arabic Poetry Exhibition), which will showcase selected verses from (The Ten Commentaries), and another presentation of selected poems from: (Poetry of the early period of Islam and beyond). It will also provide an opportunity to learn about the complex, its activities, programs, and various initiatives.
