Jeddah (UNA) - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation condemned the Israeli occupation forces’ targeting of the Jordanian field hospital in Gaza, which led to the injury of seven of its staff. The organization considers this to be an extension of the ongoing Israeli military attacks on hospitals, medical staff, the sick, the wounded, and the displaced inside them, in clear violation of international humanitarian law.
The organization renewed its call on the international community to intervene urgently in order to force Israel, the occupying power, to comply with its obligations under international humanitarian law and relevant United Nations resolutions, the most recent of which was UN Security Council Resolution No. 2712 of November 15, 2023, which calls for the protection of all medical and humanitarian workers, and vehicles. humanitarian sites, critical infrastructure, including United Nations facilities, and help facilitate the movement of aid convoys.
