The Organization of Islamic Cooperation condemns the opening of a Papua New Guinea embassy in occupied Jerusalem

Jeddah (UNA) - The Organization of Islamic Cooperation strongly condemned Papua New Guinea's decision to open an embassy in occupied Jerusalem, stressing that this step is illegal and a violation of international law and relevant United Nations resolutions, especially Security Council Resolution No. 478 of 1980, which calls on countries that and established diplomatic missions in Jerusalem to withdraw it.

The organization affirmed that this decision contributes to the consolidation of the illegal colonial occupation system and constitutes a violation of the rights of the Palestinian people. To the resolutions of international legitimacy and the Arab peace initiative.
