The Prime Minister of Thailand receives the Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation

Bangkok (UNA) - The Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Thailand, General Prayuth Chan-ocha, received at the Thai government headquarters in Bangkok on Thursday, August 10, 2023, the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Hussain Ibrahim Taha, within the framework of his official visit to the Kingdom of Thailand, in the presence of Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Thailand.

The Thai Prime Minister expressed his thanks to the Secretary-General for this visit and stressed the importance his government attaches to its partnership with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and the interest it attaches to the Islamic world by recalling the various means of support provided by his country to the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, in particular to the Islamic Solidarity Fund and to some Member States. organization.

He also stressed the importance of the situation of Muslims in Thailand and the efforts his government is making to protect them.

The OIC Secretary General extended his sincere greetings to the King of Thailand, expressed his gratitude to the Prime Minister and his government for their continued engagement with the OIC and saluted Thailand's active cooperation with the OIC General Secretariat and Member States. He also praised Thailand for being a model of peaceful coexistence between followers of religions to ensure full integration and integration of Muslims in Thailand.

The Thai Prime Minister and the OIC Secretary General reviewed bilateral cooperation and exchanged views on new horizons of cooperation for the benefit of OIC member states, particularly in agriculture, education and training.
