Al-Othaimeen discusses with the delegate of Gambia the preparations for the Islamic Summit 2019

Jeddah (UNA-OIC) – The Secretary General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Dr. Yousef bin Ahmed Al-Othaimeen, received Thursday (January 11, 2018) in his office, Ambassador Omar Jibril Salah, the Permanent Representative of the Gambia to the Organization, who presented to the General Secretariat to deliver a message from the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Gambia related to the ongoing preparations. To host the next session of the Islamic Summit Conference to be held in early 2019 in Banjul. Dr. Al-Othaimeen and his Gambian guest discussed the level of preparations and agreed that officials from both sides would work closely to ensure the success of organizing the summit. They discussed other regional issues as well as the threat posed by terrorism. The two sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations between the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and The Gambia. The Secretary-General expressed his appreciation to the Government of Gambia for its offer to host the summit and for its tireless support for the work of the organization, assuring the Gambian official of the full support of the General Secretariat of the organization in organizing this summit.
