The foreign ministers of Islamic Cooperation are discussing the integration of youth into development processes

Abidjan (INA) – The foreign ministers of Islamic Cooperation discussed on Tuesday (July 11, 2017) the conditions of youth in Islamic countries, and their position in the development plans in those countries, on the sidelines of the meetings of the XNUMXth session of the Conference of Foreign Ministers, in Abidjan. The ministers held a brainstorming session on youth, peace and development in a world of solidarity, to discuss the main problems that prevent the full inclusion of youth in development processes in Islamic countries. The ministers also discussed the proposed solutions to prevent the deviation of youth in the Member States towards extremism and their falling into the families of extremism and terrorist groups. They emphasized the importance of developing economic and social strategies to contain young people, and to deal more seriously with the crises facing them, especially the triad of poverty, extremism and illegal immigration. He included the issue of youth as a main focus of the current session of the Council of Foreign Ministers of Islamic Cooperation, to issue recommendations and initiatives that address the situation of youth in member states.
