Jeddah (INA) – The General Secretariat of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) welcomed the election of President Michel Aoun as President of the Lebanese Republic, expressing its warmest congratulations and wishes for leading Lebanon towards greater security, stability, prosperity and well-being of the Lebanese people and their national unity. The organization expressed its wishes to President Michel Aoun for success in his lofty duties, and congratulated President Saad Hariri on his assignment to form the new government. The Organization of Islamic Cooperation congratulated the Lebanese people for their adherence to the legitimate institutions of the Lebanese state and their keenness to perpetuate democracy, the rule of law and institutions.
