Jeddah (UNA) - Dr. Qutb Mustafa Manu, Minister in charge of Diplomatic Affairs and Diplomatic Advisor to the President of the Republic of Guinea, said: Fear of Islam or Islamophobia is related to Muslims and their behaviors and how they individually present this true religion, which does not include in its texts anything that calls for bloodshed. In a series of lectures by the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Dr. Manu addressed the topic: (The Culture of Fear of Islam, and the Culture of Fear for Islam, within a Critical Vision), in which he demonstrated the need to work more on self-criticism that reveals the truth. He pointed out how fear for Islam can ultimately lead to the export of negative discourse by Muslims or misguided groups, resulting in the phenomenon of fear of Islam. In the lecture moderated by Dr. Abdullah bin Musa Al Tayer, Director General of the Office of the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation and his Senior Advisor, at the organization's headquarters, today, September 16, 2019, Dr. Manu explained several definitions of fear, explaining that it is a behavior resulting from a sense of danger, and pointed out that there are two fears; The first is logical, and the second cannot be considered a natural fear, which he defined as the phenomenon of fear of Islam that is spreading in the West and different parts of the world. Dr. Mano explained that the violence caused by extremist and terrorist groups at its most extreme manifestation, in addition to the behaviors of some individuals from Muslims residing in non-Muslim countries or even Muslims in their own countries, as individual-negative models that do not respect public ethics as well as the minimum requirements of social relations such as lying, cheating and chaos, are all manifestations that convey to the West and others negative models of Muslims, and create a false impression for others about what Islam is. After Dr. Mano denied - in full and in detail - any relationship between the text in the true Islamic religion and the negative behaviors of some followers of this religion, he went on to say: There is a distorted discourse that has been transmitted to the West, which indicates that Islam incites violence and bloodshed. Dr. Mano said that the task of achieving justice, applying the law and waging wars is the responsibility of the ruler according to the text and custom of the Islamic religion, and individuals are not permitted to initiate efforts that include punishing others or declaring wars. Pointing out that doing so is a clear violation of the text, and a crime and a sin for which God Almighty punishes whoever commits it in the name of religion. He explained: Islam has never opposed civilization and has not prohibited other civilizations from their privacy, denying that Islam is in danger or that it requires carrying weapons to defend it within reckless actions that have only led to distorting the reputation of Islam and its followers. It is noteworthy that Ambassador Ali Qutali, Director of the Palestine and Jerusalem Department at the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, had presented Dr. Manu with his CV, referring to his academic and professional record that includes many awards of appreciation, achievements and specialized intellectual theses in the title of the lecture.
