Madani participates in the first OIC Investment Forum in Central Asia

Jeddah (INA) – The Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, Mr. Iyad Amin Madani, is making his first official visits to two member states of the Organization in Central Asia, the Republic of Tajikistan and the Republic of Kazakhstan, starting on Sunday, October 25, 2014, with the aim of consolidating relations between the Organization and the countries of this region. On his first leg of his visit to Central Asia, the Secretary-General, accompanied by a delegation from the Organization, will participate in the first OIC Investment Forum that is held within the framework of the Organization's Action Plan for Cooperation with Central Asia, which will open in Dushanbe, Tajikistan on October 27, 2014. In his speech, the Secretary-General will focus on In the forum to invite public and private sector institutions in the member states of the organization to invest in Central Asia with the aim of promoting the social and economic integration of the countries of the region. The Forum will be opened by the President of the Republic of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon. During his visit, the Secretary-General will hold meetings with government officials and civil society activists to discuss ways to develop bilateral relations between the organization and Tajikistan. In his second stop of this visit, which will lead him to Kazakhstan, the Secretary-General will hold interactive sessions with a number of academics and the most prominent civil society institutions in Almaty on the role of the organization in promoting social and cultural relations and the development of the member states of the organization. In Astana, the Secretary-General will hold official talks with the Prime Minister of Kazakhstan and a number of government officials on the role of Kazakhstan in contributing to the various programs and activities of the organization.
