Iraqi agriculture: 700 thousand tons, the expected date production volume in 2020

Baghdad (UNA) - The Iraqi Ministry of Agriculture confirmed on Monday that the export of dates will begin at the beginning of next October after the completion of the harvesting process, while indicating that the dates will be exported to more than 10 countries. The ministry's spokesman, Hamid Al-Naif, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): The date harvesting process has not yet begun, as the quantities this year will be better than the previous year due to the presence of some interest and encouragement for export. He pointed out that the export of dates will take place at the beginning of next October after the completion of the harvesting process. He added: The ministry stressed the control of the borders to support the national product and prevent the entry of imports to provide an opportunity for exporters and encourage them, as the ministry decided to prevent the entry of molasses from abroad.
