Bahrain announces the discovery of the largest oil field in the country's history

Manama (UNA) - The Bahraini Supreme Committee for Natural Resources and Economic Security announced on Sunday the discovery of the largest oil field in the country’s history. The committee said that this discovery is considered the first discovery since 1932 when the first oil well was inaugurated in the Kingdom, noting that the development of this new field will contribute to enhancing the competitive capabilities of the Kingdom of Bahrain and continuing to implement development projects and initiatives, as well as fulfilling its obligations with sister countries and global financial markets. The Chairman of the Committee, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, directed the National Oil and Gas Authority to determine the feasibility of the quantities that can be extracted from this new field and to develop plans to develop it within the time frame, taking into account the geological nature of the site and the cost of extraction, so that this field will have contributions.
