King Salman International Academy for the Arabic Language and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation provide specialized training courses for more than (350) male and female teachers

Riyadh (UNA) - The King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language - in cooperation with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation - concluded the (External Training Courses) program directed at teachers of Arabic for non-native speakers, which lasted for three months, namely: (August, September, and October) of this year. The program included the provision of three specialized courses virtually, and the number of beneficiaries of these courses reached more than (350) male and female trainees from (40) different nationalities.

The Secretary-General of the Academy, Prof. Dr. Abdullah bin Saleh Al-Washmi, pointed out that the Academy is active in many tracks for teaching the Arabic language locally and globally, including joint work with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, stressing that this cooperation comes within the framework of the Academy’s vision aimed at being a pioneer and a local and global reference in serving the Arabic language, and supporting initiatives to spread the Arabic language, and enhance its civilizational, scientific, and cultural contributions; in line with the objectives of the Human Capacity Development Program (one of the programs of Saudi Vision 2030).

The program included three specialized courses: (Basic Principles in Preparing Tests for Non-Native Arabic Language Learners), (Training Arabic Language Teachers for Non-Native Speakers), and (Teaching Arabic Virtually), presented by a team of specialists. Each course took three days in two training sessions, each lasting four hours per day.

The three courses targeted Arabic language teachers who are non-native speakers in non-Arab countries, Arabic language teachers for non-native speakers in Arab countries who are not specialists, or whose experience is less than (3) years, in addition to Arabic language teachers for non-native speakers (Arabs) in non-Arab countries.

The countries benefiting from these courses are: the People's Democratic Republic of Algeria, the Republic of Togo, the State of Qatar, the Republic of Mali, Senegal, the Republic of Uzbekistan, the Republic of Uganda, the Republic of Tunisia, the State of Palestine, the State of Malaysia, the Syrian Arab Republic, the Republic of Indonesia, the State of Libya, the Chechen Republic, the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, the Sultanate of Brunei Darussalam, the Arab Republic of Egypt, the Kingdom of Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates, the Federal Republic of Nigeria, the Republic of Turkey, the Republic of Maldives, the Republic of Sierra Leone, the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire, the Republic of Burkina Faso, the Republic of Albania, the Islamic Republic of Iran, the People's Republic of Bangladesh, the Republic of Tajikistan, the Republic of Chad, the Republic of Gabon, the Republic of Guinea-Bissau, the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, and the Republic of Djibouti.

It is worth mentioning here that the external training courses fall within the strategic objectives of the King Salman Global Academy for the Arabic Language in the educational programs sector, which aims to provide added value to existing training and qualification programs, and to provide new and innovative educational products, applications and methods, including Arabic speakers and those wishing to learn it from non-Arabic speakers.
