The Chair of the ISESCO Chair for Women in Science and Technology visits the organization's headquarters in Rabat

Rabat (INA) – Yesterday, Dr. Farida El Khammar, Chair of the ISESCO Chair for Women in Science and Technology hosted by the University of Sciences and Technologies - Houari Boumediene in Algiers, visited the headquarters of the Islamic Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization - ISESCO - in Rabat, where she was received by the Director of Sciences. Dr. Faeq Bilal The talks between the two sides dealt with ways to activate the terms of the agreement concluded between ISESCO and the University regarding the establishment of the chair and scrutinizing its programs and methods of implementation. The ISESCO Chair for Women in Science and Technology aims to develop women’s knowledge and experience in science and technology, and to contribute to the revitalization of the academic movement among women scientists and the rapid transfer of knowledge by strengthening cooperation and networking between universities and academic institutions, and strengthening capacities in the field of women’s empowerment in an effort to advance the principle of equality in women’s rights. This chair also aims to contribute to facilitating cooperation between researchers and faculty members in universities and scientific research institutions in the Arab member states who are recognized for their competence and excellence at the regional level, through establishing partnerships between these countries and strengthening international academic cooperation in the field of scientific research for women and harnessing it. in national development. The ISESCO Chair for Women in Science and Technology held a national workshop on the topic: (Science and Society: The Role of Women), at the University of Science and Technology - Houari Boumediene in Algiers, on June 15 and 16, 2014. Participants discussed the role of women in scientific research. And the scientific role of women in the Muslim society, ways of rapprochement between parliamentarians and researchers in the field of science and technology, and the relationship between scientific research and the sectors of culture, education, economy and the environment.
