Manama (UNA/BNA) – The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s welcome of the announcement by US President Donald Trump to begin procedures to remove the Syrian Arab Republic from the list of state sponsors of terrorism, and the commencement of procedures by the US Congress to complete the implementation of the decision, considering it an important step towards supporting efforts to rebuild Syria, enhancing opportunities to attract foreign investments and aid, and reintegrating it into the global financial and economic systems.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs affirmed the Kingdom of Bahrain’s deep appreciation for the efforts of US President Donald Trump in supporting the Syrian Arab Republic, in the context of his initiatives to lift economic sanctions, and his endeavors to consolidate security, peace and sustainable development in the region, reiterating the Kingdom of Bahrain’s firm position in support of Syria’s security, stability and unity and territorial integrity, in a way that meets the aspirations of its people towards security, stability and sustainable prosperity, and the restoration of its active role in its Arab and international environment.
