Antalya (UNA/Anadolu) – Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan said that this year’s Antalya Diplomacy Forum hosted 23 heads of state and government, 13 vice presidents and government, and 50 ministers.
This came in a press conference held on Sunday, as part of the closing activities of the Antalya Diplomacy Forum 2026.
He noted the participation of 6400 people in the forum from 150 countries and 66 international organizations.
Speaking at a press conference held today as part of the forum's conclusion, he said that everyone knows that Israel's true intention of emptying the Gaza Strip of its inhabitants has not changed, drawing attention to the genocide that Israel is committing in Gaza.
Fidan explained that the reality of the ongoing genocide in Gaza in various forms is still very much in sight.
He added: “Everyone knows that Israel’s true intention of emptying Gaza of its population has not changed, but no one is saying so.”
He pointed out that the problem of Israeli expansion no longer only affects the security of the region, but has become a global security problem.
He continued: “We are talking about an extremist fundamentalist government (the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu), which has become a scourge for the entire world.”
Regarding the American-Israeli war against Iran, he said, “No one wants to resume the war after the ceasefire deadline expires next week, as the number of issues at hand is so large that it may necessitate extending the ceasefire again.”
He stated: “If the region continues to wait for outside help, it will continue to face these problems.”
He emphasized his country's efforts to end conflicts in the region and achieve economic progress.
He stressed that it is vital for the countries of the region to meet and take responsibility for their problems.
