ISESCO concludes the work of the international symposium on media education

Rabat (UNI/QNA) - The international symposium “Media Literacy: Horizons and Aspirations”, which was held by the Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO), concluded today over two days at its headquarters in the Moroccan city of Rabat, with the participation of researchers and specialists from 16 countries.

The symposium’s recommendations highlighted the importance of consolidating the values ​​of global citizenship to contribute to building a more just and peaceful world, by investing in media education, developing young people’s awareness of digital ethics in content production and circulation, and preparing a professional, legislative and ethical code of honor for the use of artificial intelligence in media work. Educational authorities called for the integration of media education into educational curricula.

The activities of the second day of the symposium, which was organized by ISESCO and Naif Arab University for Security Sciences in Saudi Arabia, in cooperation with the League of Arab States and the Moroccan Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, included sessions that discussed the requirements for including media education in the educational system, the basics of conscious dealing with the media, social communication, information sources, and intelligence.
