Makkah (UNA) – The Agency of the Prophet’s Mosque (Madinah Branch) launched the second edition of the “Choice in Honoring the Prophet’s Mosque” initiative for the Hajj season, in accordance with the approved operational plan. The initiative aims to enhance the experience of the Guests of God and visitors to the Prophet’s Mosque and instill the proper etiquette of visiting the Prophet’s Mosque.
His Excellency the President of the Religious Affairs at the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque, Sheikh Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais, launched the initiative at his office at the Agency of the Prophet’s Mosque, stressing the importance of the “Choice in Honoring the Mosque of the Chosen One” initiative in instilling the legal etiquette of caring for the Prophet’s Mosque during the Hajj season and the culture of honoring it in the souls of Muslims in general and its visitors in particular, which is reflected in creating a spiritual environment in the Prophet’s Mosque.
He added that the initiative stems from the core message and foundations of the Two Holy Mosques, which are enriching and moderate, and the necessity of activating them and consolidating their concept and culture through a package of enriching and enhancing activities.
His Excellency pointed out the status of the Prophet’s Mosque in Islamic history and in the hearts of all Muslims. This necessitates that visitors and guests of the Most Merciful treat it with respect, reverence, and proper care, and learn the etiquette of visiting it, especially the etiquette of lowering one’s voice, out of respect for the Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings be upon him, whose sanctity in death is just as in life. God Almighty says: “Indeed, those who lower their voices in the presence of the Messenger of God - those are the ones whose hearts God has tested for piety. For them is forgiveness and a great reward.” (Al-Hujurat: 3)
The initiative is based on 10 enrichment tracks to promote “choice in glorifying the Prophet’s Mosque”; activate aspects that enhance the glorification of the Prophet’s Mosque in the hearts of Muslims worldwide, and enrich the religious experience of visitors by holding meetings and scientific and intellectual dialogues; concerned with the rulings and etiquette of the Prophet’s Mosque, greeting the Prophet ﷺ and his two companions, visiting the Noble Rawdah, interacting with worshippers, and deepening its glorification among the guests of the Most Merciful and visitors, in addition to introducing its enriching landmarks, and other things that achieve the desired message of the Presidency in accordance with the aspirations of the wise leadership - may God protect it.
