Riyadh (UNA/WAM) – The Secretary-General of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf, Mr. Jassim Mohammed Al-Budaiwi, expressed his welcome for the statement issued by the members of the Security Council on Friday, August 7, 2026, which included a condemnation of the missile attacks launched by the terrorist Houthi militia against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia since July 13, as well as the attacks that targeted commercial ships since July 22.
He stressed that the GCC countries condemn in the strongest terms these repeated Houthi terrorist attacks against the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, which represent a flagrant violation of its sovereignty and a direct threat to its security, stability and territorial integrity, stressing that targeting commercial ships and threatening international maritime navigation routes constitutes a dangerous escalation that threatens regional security and stability.
Al-Badawi called on the international community to assume its responsibilities regarding these serious attacks, and to take a firm international stance to hold the Houthi terrorist militia accountable for its repeated attacks and violations, and to work to stop these attacks immediately and urgently.
He stressed the GCC countries’ full support and solidarity with the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in confronting all threats to its security, sovereignty and stability, and their support for all measures taken by the Kingdom to protect its territorial sovereignty and the safety of its citizens and residents.
