The Muslim World League welcomes the start of the second phase of the comprehensive peace plan and the formation of the Palestinian National Committee to administer the Gaza Strip.

Makkah Al-Mukarramah (UNA) – The Muslim World League welcomed the announcement of the start of the second phase of the comprehensive peace plan, the announcement of the “Peace Council,” and the formation of the Palestinian National Committee to manage the Gaza Strip, appreciating in this context the efforts of His Excellency US President Donald Trump to stop the war on the Gaza Strip, and his commitment to the withdrawal of the occupation government’s army and preventing the annexation of any part of the West Bank.

In a statement issued by the General Secretariat of the League, His Excellency the Secretary-General, Chairman of the Council of Muslim Scholars, Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdulkarim Al-Issa, stressed the urgent need to fully commit to the requirements of this stage, and to seriously and firmly address any violations against it, especially ensuring sufficient access to much-needed humanitarian aid in the afflicted sector, and supporting the return of the Palestinian National Authority to assume its responsibilities in the Gaza Strip, as a prelude to ending the cycle of violence and wars, and establishing a lasting, comprehensive and just peace, in accordance with the relevant international resolutions, and the “New York Declaration for a Two-State Solution.”
