The UAE hosts the Global Conference on Health Promotion, with the participation of 2000 experts from 100 countries.

ABU DHABI (UNA/WAM) – The 13th World Congress on Health Promotion and Education continued at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) from May 16 to 2000, with the participation of more than 100 public health experts and specialists from over XNUMX countries. This event is being held for the first time in the Middle East.

Dr. Amani Al Hajri, Executive Director of the Community Health Sector at the Abu Dhabi Public Health Center, confirmed in a statement to the Emirates News Agency (WAM) that the conference will feature more than 300 scientific sessions, including keynote lectures, workshops, interactive discussions, and presentations of global best practices in health promotion.

She added, "Participants from Abu Dhabi, the UAE, and the world will exchange knowledge, expertise, and distinguished models that contribute to building effective policies and formulating implementable development programs that translate into tangible results at the public health level."

The conference's scientific program explores a wide range of vital issues, most notably "Planetary Health and Adaptation to Climate Change," "Mental Health and Community Well-being," "Digital Transformation in Healthcare," and "Promoting Healthy Environments in Schools, Workplaces, and Cities." These themes are built on the profound connection between public health and environmental sustainability, along with ensuring individuals' right to access integrated healthcare services and formulating cross-sector policies that ensure healthier and more sustainable societies.

For her part, Dr. Hind Al Awadhi, Head of the Health Promotion and Audit Section at the Dubai Health Authority, expressed her pride in participating in this global event, emphasizing the importance of cooperation between local and international health authorities to promote the concepts of well-being and comprehensive health.

Al Awadhi told WAM, “Today, we participated in a session dedicated to health and well-being, where we discussed the most prominent health and environmental challenges facing communities. I reviewed Dubai’s experience in promoting health, particularly the ‘Psychological Well-being in the Emirate of Dubai’ project.”

She explained that the project focuses on supporting mental health as an integral part of individual and community health, and reviewed its goals, achievements, and future steps to expand its impact.

Al-Awadhi emphasized that participating in this conference represents a real opportunity to exchange expertise, learn about global experiences, and strengthen health partnerships, contributing to improving the quality of life for communities.
