ABU DHABI (UNA/WAM) - President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan today received Dr. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Azerbaijan, at Al Shati Palace in Abu Dhabi. She is on an official visit to the country, in the presence of Saqr Ghobash, Speaker of the Federal National Council.
He welcomed the Speaker of the National Assembly, wishing her a successful visit to the country, and emphasized the depth of relations between the UAE and Azerbaijan.
The meeting addressed bilateral relations and ways to develop and strengthen them for the benefit of both countries and peoples, particularly in parliamentary areas. Both sides emphasized the importance of parliamentary cooperation between the two countries in supporting bilateral relations and enhancing understanding on common issues. They also highlighted the role of parliaments in fostering communication and rapprochement between peoples, serving coexistence and peace at the regional and international levels.
For her part, Dr. Sahiba Gafarova, Speaker of the National Assembly of Azerbaijan, praised the progress made in UAE-Azerbaijan relations, thanks to cooperation and the shared visions of the two countries to achieve development and prosperity for their peoples.
