
Cairo (UNA/WAM) - Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Yamahi, Speaker of the Arab Parliament, stressed that preserving the Arabic language is a civilizational and moral duty, calling for the development of a unified Arab strategy to enhance its global standing and link it to sustainable development, technology, and the labor market.
This came in his speech at the award ceremony for the first edition of the Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Award for Creativity in the Service of the Arabic Language, held at the headquarters of the General Secretariat of the League of Arab States in Cairo, in the presence of a number of officials and diplomats.
Al Yamahi pointed to the challenges facing the Arabic language, most notably the decline in its use and the dominance of foreign languages, emphasizing the importance of supporting initiatives aimed at protecting it and enhancing its presence in various areas of life.
He emphasized that the future of the Arabic language is tied to its ability to interact with global transformations, calling for investment in developing Arabic digital content and promoting the use of the language in scientific research, higher education, and modern technology.
