
Baghdad (UNA/WAM) - Iraq and Azerbaijan discussed opportunities to strengthen economic relations and expand joint investment during a meeting between their foreign ministers in Baghdad today.
Iraqi Foreign Minister Fuad Hussein and his Azerbaijani counterpart, Jeyhun Bayramov, emphasized the importance of developing trade exchanges and invited companies from both countries to explore available opportunities.
In the energy field, the two ministers discussed ways to cooperate in this vital sector, with Iraq indicating its interest in developing its gas production.
The talks also included a call to resume flights between the capitals and cities of the two countries to facilitate the movement of trade and people.
In addition, the two ministers reviewed prospects for cooperation in other sectors, such as education and regional issues, stressing the need to resolve conflicts through peaceful means and exchanging views on regional and international developments.
