ISLAMABAD (UNA) – The 6th International Water Conference, themed “Emerging Technologies for Water Security and Socio-Economic Development,” will be held on May 7-2025, XNUMX, at the headquarters of the Standing Committee for Scientific and Technological Cooperation of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (COMSTECH) in Islamabad.
The conference, organized by COMSTECH in collaboration with the Refah Institute of Public Policy, the Pakistan Council for Research in Water Resources (PCRWR), WaterAid, and Haripur University, brings together researchers, practitioners, academics, and policymakers from around the world to discuss critical issues related to water management and sustainability.
The conference will serve as a vital platform for knowledge exchange and collaborative dialogue, with attendees participating in academic presentations, interactive panel discussions, and specialized technical sessions. The aim is to foster in-depth discussions that will help guide policies and practices, stimulate cross-sector collaboration, and encourage innovative approaches to sustainable water resource management.
The conference will also feature more than 80 research papers on various subtopics, including environment and climate change, food and agriculture, glaciology and snow hydrology, water, sanitation and hygiene, the circular water economy, policy and governance, and artificial intelligence for water security.
