The first flights of beneficiaries of the "Makkah Road" initiative depart from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.

Islamabad (UNA/SPA) – The first flights of beneficiaries of the “Makkah Route” initiative departed from the Islamic Republic of Pakistan today to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia via the initiative’s lounge at Islamabad International Airport, heading to Prince Mohammed bin Abdulaziz International Airport in Madinah, in the presence of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques’ Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Maliki, and the Minister of Religious Affairs in Pakistan Sardaad Muhammad Yousuf.

The initiative aims to provide high-quality services to the Guests of God from the beneficiary countries, by receiving them and completing their procedures in their countries with ease and convenience. This begins with taking their biometric data and issuing Hajj visas electronically, then proceeding to completing passport procedures at the airport of the country of departure, after verifying the availability of health requirements. The initiative also includes coding and sorting luggage according to transportation and accommodation arrangements in the Kingdom, and transferring them directly to buses to transport them to their places of residence in the regions of Makkah Al-Mukarramah and Madinah Al-Munawwarah, via designated routes. Partner agencies are responsible for delivering their luggage to these destinations.

It's worth noting that the Ministry of Interior is implementing the initiative, now in its seventh year, in cooperation with the Ministries of Foreign Affairs, Health, Hajj and Umrah, and Information, the General Authority of Civil Aviation, the Zakat, Tax, and Customs Authority, the Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA), the General Authority for Endowments, the Hajj and Umrah Services Program, and the General Directorate of Passports.
