The Iranian Consul General in Jeddah inaugurates the "Wal-Qalam" exhibition of Quranic calligraphy and Arabic poetry.

Jeddah (UNA) – The Consul General of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Jeddah, Mr. Hassan Zarnagar, inaugurated on Sunday, April 20, 2025, the “And the Pen” exhibition of Quranic calligraphy and Arabic poetry, organized by the Consulate in cooperation with the House of Islamic Arts in Jeddah.

The opening was attended by the Director General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Makkah branch, Mr. Farid bin Saad Al-Shehri, along with a number of ambassadors and consuls, where they witnessed calligraphy of Quranic verses and poetry accompanied by Persian translations.

In his speech, Zarnakar welcomed the attendees, praising the participation of prominent Iranian calligrapher Sayyid Muhammad al-Haydari, who displayed a selection of his works. Guests also viewed the Saudi section, which featured heritage items such as jewelry, clothing, and traditional medicine tools.

The exhibition will continue until April 25 and will be open to the public daily from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m., promoting cultural exchange and highlighting the aesthetics of Quranic calligraphy.
