Cairo (UNA/SPA) - Speaker of the Arab Parliament Mohammed bin Ahmed Al-Yamahi strongly condemned the assassination attempt on the President of the Federal Republic of Somalia, Dr. Hassan Sheikh Mahmoud, as a result of the explosion of an explosive device during the passage of his convoy, which resulted in casualties and injuries.
In a statement issued today, Al-Yamahi affirmed the Arab Parliament's full solidarity with Somalia at this critical time, and its absolute rejection of all forms of terrorism that aim to destabilize the security and stability of the Arab region.
The Speaker of the Arab Parliament expressed his sincere condolences and deepest sympathy to the Federal Republic of Somalia, its people, and the families of the victims, praying to God Almighty to grant the injured a speedy recovery.
