The Arab Parliament affirmed in a statement today that this aggression and the continued targeting of civilians in the Gaza Strip, including children, women, and the elderly, and the demolition of homes, represent a clear disregard for the rules of international law, an official evasion of the obligations of consolidating the cessation of the war of extermination, and a disruption of international efforts supporting the ceasefire, the reconstruction plan, and the establishment of the Palestinian state.
In turn, the Speaker of the Arab Parliament, Mohammed Al-Yamahi, said that the continuation of this escalation will exacerbate the humanitarian catastrophe in the Gaza Strip, where more than two million Palestinians are living under bombardment, with a severe shortage of basic needs, as part of the occupation’s starvation policy, preventing the entry of aid into the Strip, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, destroying the foundations of daily life in the Gaza Strip, and eliminating the Palestinian presence as part of a systematic plan to destroy what remains of the Strip, and impose a new reality in line with its goals of displacing its population.
He called on the international community, the Security Council, and influential countries to shoulder their responsibilities and pressure the occupation to stop the genocidal war it is committing against civilians, hold those responsible for these crimes accountable as war criminals, provide protection for civilians, and expedite the entry of humanitarian and medical aid into the Gaza Strip to reduce famine and the tragic conditions in the Strip.
