Cairo (UNA/SPA) - The Saudi Data and Artificial Intelligence Authority (SDAIA) affirmed its continued support for responsible innovation and the promotion of safe and reliable use of artificial intelligence in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in order to achieve the goals of the Kingdom's Vision 2030.
This came during Sedaya’s participation today in the Arab Dialogue Circle’s activities “Artificial Intelligence in the Arab World: Innovative Applications and Ethical Challenges,” which is organized by the General Secretariat of the Arab League, the Arab Academy for Science, Technology and Maritime Transport, and Naif Arab University for Security Sciences, with the participation of Arab and foreign officials and experts from many entities.
During its participation in the dialogue circle, SDAIA reviewed its efforts to regulate and promote the responsible and ethical use of artificial intelligence, as it developed an AI ethics framework that aims to achieve the maximum possible value while maintaining responsible adoption and use.
Within this framework, it also provides awareness tools for self-assessment of commitment to AI ethics, in addition to optional registration for various institutions and entities, where their commitment to AI ethics is assessed according to specific standards through which an AI service provider certificate is issued, which is granted to all companies and institutions that adhere to the AI ethics standards specified in the framework.
She explained that this certificate reflects the level of the entity’s commitment to ethical standards, which contributes to enhancing confidence in its solutions based on artificial intelligence, which confirms the pioneering role played by SDAIA in building a reliable digital environment that is compatible with the best international practices.
