UAE President, Jordan's King discuss bilateral relations, regional developments

Abu Dhabi (UNA/WAM) - Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the United Arab Emirates, discussed with his brother, King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, yesterday, fraternal relations and aspects of cooperation and joint work at various levels.

This came during a meeting with the President of the State, King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein, who arrived in the capital, Abu Dhabi, yesterday on a fraternal visit to the UAE, within the framework of mutual keenness to continue fraternal consultations on various issues of common interest, especially in light of the conditions the region is going through.

During the meeting, the two sides stressed the strength of the deep-rooted historical relations between the two countries and brotherly peoples, and the keenness to expand opportunities for bilateral cooperation in all fields.

Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and His Majesty King Abdullah II also reviewed the developments in the sisterly Syrian Arab Republic, and in this context, they affirmed the two countries’ firm stance towards Syria’s unity, stability, sovereignty, and territorial integrity, and the preservation of its national institutions, in addition to supporting everything that achieves the aspirations of its brotherly people, stressing that Syria’s stability is a strategic interest for the Arab world and the region in general.

The President of the UAE and King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein stressed the need to intensify efforts to enhance regional stability and prevent the expansion of conflict in the region.

King Abdullah II praised the importance of the efforts made by the United Arab Emirates, led by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, in supporting the stability of the region and preventing the expansion of conflict there.

The meeting was attended by Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council, Lt. General Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Chief of the Presidential Court for Special Affairs, Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, Advisor to the President of the State, Humaid Obaid Abu Shabs, Chairman of the Emirates Accountability Authority, Dr. Sultan bin Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology, and a number of officials.

It was also attended from the Jordanian side by His Royal Highness Prince Hussein bin Abdullah II, Crown Prince of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, His Excellency Dr. Jaafar Hassan, Prime Minister, Ayman Safadi, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, and a number of senior Jordanian officials.

King Abdullah II bin Al Hussein arrived in the country yesterday, where he was received at Al Bateen Airport by Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and a number of sheikhs and senior officials.
