The Emir of the State of Kuwait said: “The Gulf Cooperation Council has proven since its inception in 1981 that our countries are capable, through their solidarity and cohesion, of achieving the prosperity of our peoples, preserving their stability, and achieving their security. Today, after more than four decades, our Council remains steadfast in its unity, firm in its positions, solid in its will, and steadfast in its efforts to establish the foundations of international security and peace, through its defense of all just causes wherever they may be.” From this standpoint, we renew our condemnation of the brutal Israeli occupation of the occupied Palestinian land, and the successive genocides against the brotherly Palestinian people. We call on the international community and the Security Council - in particular - to exercise their role by ensuring the implementation of all relevant Security Council resolutions, an immediate ceasefire, providing international protection for innocent civilians, ensuring the opening of safe corridors and the arrival of urgent humanitarian aid. We affirm the steadfastness of our historical principled position supporting the brotherly Palestinian people in their legitimate struggle to end the Israeli occupation of the occupied Palestinian land, achieve all their political rights, and establish their independent state on their land within the borders of June 1967, XNUMX, with East Jerusalem as its capital, in accordance with the relevant international references and resolutions.”

Sheikh Meshaal Al-Sabah added: “We commend the positive and constructive initiatives expressed by the friendly Islamic Republic of Iran towards the Gulf Cooperation Council, and we look forward to their reflection on the pending issues between the friendly Islamic Republic of Iran and all the GCC countries, and to raising the areas of cooperation to broader horizons, in light of the United Nations Charter and international law charters, and the principles of good neighborliness, respect for countries and non-interference in their internal affairs. And in belief in the principle of good neighborliness, and that dialogue is a pivotal pillar for overcoming obstacles and challenges.”

He also praised the launch of the “International Alliance for the Implementation of the Two-State Solution,” with the aim of achieving just and lasting peace in accordance with the relevant United Nations resolutions and the Arab Peace Initiative of 2002.

He said: “We meet today, in this important session, in light of sensitive regional conditions and accelerating events, which call for strengthening solidarity, consolidating the bonds of cohesion between our countries, and working hard and continuously to consolidate the rules upon which our lofty system was built, those rules that made the Cooperation Council an example to be emulated in unity and integration.”

He added: “In this context, we cannot ignore the horrific crisis that the Palestinian people are suffering from in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, due to the ongoing war waged by the Israeli occupation forces, the effects of which have extended to Lebanon, leading to a dangerous military escalation and the exacerbation of tensions in the region. In the face of these serious challenges, we renew our call to the international community to take decisive measures, adhere to its humanitarian and legal responsibilities, work towards an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire, and lift the suffering of innocent civilians.”
