Riyadh (UNA/SPA) - The dialogue session held today, as part of the work of the Saudi Media Forum 2024 in its third edition, under the title “Media Skills between Passion and Professionalism,” moderated by the official spokesman for the Ministry of Human Resources, Muhammad Al-Rizqi, stressed the importance of refining university students’ skills to attract competencies. Through it, Professor of Media at King Saud University, Dr. Abdul-Malik Al-Shalhoub, explained that it is necessary for the journalist to acquire many skills, such as photography, preparation, writing, design, and the skill of dealing with digital content, in order to be effective in the labor market to provide good content, stressing the importance of the journalist’s desire to develop himself in these acquired skills.

He pointed out that the management of media plans in media colleges faces difficulty in keeping up with modern technologies, which affects many academic programs, indicating that there is difficulty in attracting competencies in the cognitive, professional and practical skills aspects, as graduates need training and transfer of skills and experience in media institutions in the region. private sector.

For his part, the Director General of Planning and Professional Standards at the Ministry of Human Resources, Dr. Khaled Al-Shahrani, touched on the importance of monitoring the professional skills required in the labor market, as coordination takes place between universities, government agencies and the private sector to train media students with the aim of raising the productivity of workers.

Al-Shahrani said: Raising the skills of media professionals must be consistent with professional and job standards, as well as the availability of qualifications to join media work.
