The Saudi Media Forum discusses the impact of the entertainment industry on the economy and job opportunities

Riyadh (UNA/SPA) - Participants in the session “The Art of the Entertainment Industry in the Kingdom” within the Saudi Media Forum in Riyadh today reviewed the impact of the entertainment industry on the economy and creating job opportunities, and the role of the private sector in developing this industry, in addition to the importance of regulation and oversight in ensuring an environment Safe and sustainable entertainment.

The CEO of the General Entertainment Authority, Faisal Bafarat, said: The entertainment sector has become profitable in the first place, noting that the number of companies in this field was between 5 to 10 companies, and today it has reached approximately 4 thousand companies in light of Saudi Vision 2030, which provided approximately 150 sustainable jobs, noting the importance of high competitiveness between business sectors in creating new forms of entertainment; This ensures consumer attraction and opens new opportunities for the sector, which has become attractive to capital and job seekers.

For his part, Executive Director of the Operations Sector at the General Entertainment Authority, Ahmed Al-Muhammadi, confirmed that the media has become an essential pillar in the entertainment industry, indicating that effective media partnerships locally and regionally contribute widely to qualitative shifts in the industry in the country, drawing attention to the authority’s keenness to diversify its platforms. And its vitality to reach local and international community segments, and to communicate the Kingdom’s continuing entertainment efforts in attracting various sports “such as boxing, football, golf, and others” and bringing in creative and talented people from around the world.

The Saudi Media Forum 2024, which is organized by the Radio and Television Corporation, in cooperation with the Saudi Journalists Association, witnesses a wide participation of more than 2000 local and international media figures in the forum’s activities and discussion sessions, in addition to the holding of the Future of Media Exhibition “FOMEX.” The largest specialized media exhibition in the Middle East, with the participation of more than 200 local and international companies, as well as the Forum Award to honor innovators in various media fields on the closing day of the Forum.
