Rome (UNA) - Pope Francis hosted - at his residence in Santa Marta - His Excellency the Secretary General of the Muslim World League, Chairman of the Association of Muslim Scholars, His Eminence Sheikh Dr. Muhammad bin Abdul Karim Al-Issa, in an exceptional meeting that reflects the level of hospitality and great appreciation for the influential international movement undertaken by By the Muslim World League in strengthening the bonds of effective dialogue, transparent and optimal understanding, and positive cooperation between followers of religions and cultures.
This private meeting followed an earlier meeting in the Pope's office.
During this meeting, which brought together His Excellency the Secretary-General, Dr. Al-Issa, and the Pope of the Vatican in his private home, cordial conversations and views were exchanged on several issues on the international arena, especially issues related to common values and building bridges between civilizations, as well as ways to confront tendencies of religious and intellectual extremism, whatever they may be. Its identities and pretexts, including all methods of hatred, racism, marginalization and exclusion.
