The Secretary-General of the United Nations appoints Stephanie Williams as his Special Adviser on Libya

New York (UNA) - Yesterday, Monday, United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres appointed Stephanie Williams as his special advisor in Libya. The official spokesman for the United Nations Secretary-General, Stephane Dujarric, confirmed in a press statement that Stephanie Williams will lead good offices, mediation and engagement efforts with Libyan, regional and international stakeholders to pursue the implementation of the three Libyan dialogue tracks: political, security and economic, and support the holding of presidential and parliamentary elections in Libya. Stephanie previously served as Acting Special Representative and Head of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (2020-2021), and Deputy Special Representative of the United Nations Support Mission in Libya (2018-2020).
