Turkmenistan: amnesty for 600 prisoners, including foreigners

Ashgabat (INA) - Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov issued a decision to pardon 612 prisoners, including 26 foreigners, days before Eid al-Fitr, according to what the national television station reported on Saturday. The station explained that this step aims to strengthen unity and solidarity within society in this former Soviet republic, which has five million people.
