The contents of Article 25 of the Makkah Document, and Articles 22 and 23 of the Document on Building Bridges between Islamic Schools of Thought, whose two international conferences are held under the generous patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and in implementation of the decision of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation countries regarding the contents of the two documents, the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Secretary-General of the Muslim World League and the Secretary-General of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and the Memorandum of Understanding signed between the Secretary-General of the Islamic Fiqh Council and the Secretary-General of the International Islamic Fiqh Council, signed in Makkah on 9/7/1445 AH, the Muslim World League launches from the Pakistani capital, Islamabad, the broadest international partnership platform to support girls’ education in Muslim societies through alliances between international, governmental, and non-governmental Islamic and international organizations.
The International Partnerships for Education in Muslim Societies Platform is scheduled to be launched within the global conference: “Girls’ Education in Muslim Societies: Challenges and Opportunities”, which will be held in partnership between the Prime Minister’s Office of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the Muslim World League, on January 11-12, 2025, with broad international participation that brings together representatives of international organizations, governments and Islamic organizations, senior religious, intellectual and media leaders, and civil society activists from various countries around the world.
The conference comes in recognition of the responsibility of the Great League towards Islamic peoples and the foundations of their renaissance, and to promote the education of girls according to its true Islamic concept, and to find effective solutions to the obstacles that stand in its way, and to confront the misconceptions about it. The conference also represents an Islamic message to the entire world, that Islam, as the religion of knowledge, civilization and noble morals, clearly supports all laws and professional and legitimate practices that enable girls to receive education, and that any legislation or practices of “individuals or groups” that prevent this are foreign to Islam, and Islamic teachings are innocent of them.
The conference will work to launch initiatives and develop plans that will confront challenges and seize available opportunities to advance girls’ education and improve it in Muslim societies, in a way that allows women to perform their obligatory and legitimate role in building their society in various fields and developing it in light of what is included in the Islamic contents contained in the articles of the two aforementioned documents, and what the League must do to enhance their activation.
